We love being a small family business. Collaborating with our clients and each other for a solution or creative option that is better than any of us could have achieved on our own is what drives our passion for this industry. My goal is to give you and your guests the luxury of experiencing a professionally curated event.
I am typically the source for ideas and creative vision. He is my go to guy with all the tools to make it happen along with the energy, ability and work ethic to keep the wheels turning.
The kids are what keep us realistic, balanced and focused on bringing you a successful event. They also make us stronger humans, there's nothing quite like Mom strength, and I bring that to each and every client.
We are a family and we treat every client that chooses to work with us as a part of our family. We put our heart and souls into what we provide to you and stand behind it with pride in what we do. You will never hear us say "it's just business". When you choose to work with us and trust us with your event, we put everything into it and stand behind our work. I like to keep it casual, it's who I am, so it will be a personal relationship. You can text me or call me. That's also why we have a limit on the number of clients we take each year, so we can provide that level of service.
WITH LOVE
My husband and I met in 2011 in Royal Oak, MI. He worked for Spectrum Cable and I was unhappily working in the financial advisement industry. We took a chance & did our first of many pivots - to purchase a flower shop with my most notable client being the Detroit Tigers. But our journey starts before that.
I was born in Canada with immigrant parents who are both one of 13 siblings from the Philippines & Guyana (you don’t hear of Guyana often). I was raised in the US my entire life but frequented the Philippines with my two younger siblings throughout my childhood. I consider myself a little bit of everything...a Texan at heart where I grew up in Mcallen, with the spirit of an East Coaster, where I graduated with a business degree from Boston University, and the soul of a mid westerner...living in Metro Detroit for 13 years.
My first passion was for dance and it was planted at the age of 2. By 14 I auditioned for Canada's National Ballet School in Toronto where I was selected as an alternate. At this time I had performed in over 50 professional productions from the Nutcracker, Giselle, Coppelia along with multiple original company performances. Missing the stage, I joined theater and even did cheerleading and competed at the National level in Orlando, Fl - what a trip.
I danced with the Boston University dance team and joined community theater as an adult. I found myself in choreography positions as well as performance roles. During my time as a ballroom dance teacher, I worked with couples choreographing their first dances (little did I know working with weddings was in my future).
After working in advertising, sales, finance, dance…I found myself loving life the most when I landed in floral design.
Noel is a true roots Michigan born and raised blue collar guy. Growing up on acreage caring for horses and bailing hay, his work ethic was instilled at an early age. At the age of 5 he was driving a riding lawn mower with a cinderblock on the gas. Growing up as the son of the president of the Metro Detroit Ski Council, Noel is an avid skier and member of the Central United States Ski Association for ski racing for many years. He was also a ski and snowboard instructor for 10 years. Playing soccer is another passion throughout his life and today he shares that with his kids coaching their local soccer team.
Noel attended Oakland University to pursue a degree in sociology after unfortunate life circumstances prevented him from attending his first option of Michigan State, where he had been accepted and planned to continue to their horticulture program. His passion for horticulture never left and he found satisfying work landscaping for 12 years, tending to family estates in metro Detroit.
The reality of life led him to a stable position at Charter Communication where he worked for 11 years. At the end of 2021 Noel left what is now called Spectrum to pursue our business full time.
We had our daughter in 2014 and she and I went to work together every day from the time she was 10 days old.Noel was commuting an hour and a half each way to work and we both worked a lot ... we were ships passing in the night. In December of 2016, we came to visit Brookings, OR - where Noel's father had retired with his wife.We came for 2 weeks, realized they also had Charter, and the rest is history. We sold everything, packed up as a family of 3 with our 2 pups and headed west. Our son was born the following February completing our family in this quaint coastal town. We came for a change in lifestyle and got it. 2020 affected us much differently than it would have living in a city. For us, social distancing started in 2017 when we arrived.
We started a tent rental business because you weren't allowed to gather indoors. Through this I was introduced to a local wedding venue, who offered me a position to manage their vacation homes and I reluctantly accepted the position. After 2 months they added Venue Coordinator to my job description. I witnessed over 20 weddings at this venue my first year. I was able to utilize my floral skills and design abilities to enhance the client experiences and help vendors who were coming from Medford, Portland or even further. The weddings reminded me of my years in dance and theater, it was like being the creative director for a couples personal show - except it was the start of their life together. I knew this was something I could do well, so the following year, I expanded my own business to offer wedding planning along with rentals & florals to give folks at the this venue a local resource and completed over 18 weddings at this venue with 100% happy couples. Plus multiple events at other locations.
I reflect upon this time as a window that opened an opportunity to utilize my natural abilities and previous experiences in a way that I hadn't considered. Our life work and experiences have prepared us to be what you need when putting together your special event, especially in an area with limited options.
Noel and I as a couple and as a family are perfectly suited to bring your special event to life. Thanks for taking the time to get to know us if you made it to here. We'd love the opportunity to get to know your story too!
